The Challenge
Go Ahead Ireland is a private bus company who are part of The Go Ahead Group a global transport provider of bus and rail services. Since 2018 Go Ahead Ireland have been operating 24 routes in the Greater Dublin area from its depot in Ballymount. After being awarded a new contract for additional commuter routes Go Ahead needed a second depot to facilitate that contract and ongoing growth across the business.
The Solution
Go Ahead needed a large, secure industrial unit with offices and ample outside parking space.
O’Neill and Co presented Go Ahead with a number of options that met their requirements. Go Ahead selected a premises in Naas Enterprise Park just off the M7 Motorway at Junction 10. The property consisted of a warehouse with office accommodation and large parking access to the front. Ease of access to Dublin via the M7, which was set to improve further with the planned motorway upgrade works, was a major factor in their decision to select Naas as the location for their second depot.
The Benefits
Go-Ahead Ireland now has adequate space to continue to grow their fleet and business.
The new depot will generate 100 jobs the majority of which will be based in Naas and will include bus drivers, engineers, maintenance and operational support, supervisors and admin personnel.
